Silent Hunter was painted after a fishing trip my family took (which was largely unsuccessful excepting for the gorgeous surrounds) during which we were all transfixed by the stillness of the Great White Egret, hunting in the shallows. My aim was to convey the tranquil atmosphere of the river and the quiet confidence of the hunting bird.
